Alan spent 11 years in the RAF as an Air Wireless mechanic/fitter, joining in 1958 as a boy and spending 18 months in the Far East and the last 4 years at A&AEE Boscombe Down.

On leaving the RAF he went in to industry, initially as a service engineer and progressed into development work for Racal and then became project engineer on the Nimrod Sonics Update Receiver for McMichael Ltd.  This is where he first got involved in developing equipment to meet the then military EMC speciciations.

He then spent a short time on the MRCA (Tornado) project for EASAMS where I got involved in the EMC testing of the HF communication equipment, witnessing system EMC testing in both Italy and Germany on behalf of the system integration teams.

Alan E Hutley, M Inst M. MIEEE.

Alan has been involved in the electronics Industry since 1959, held various Sales and Marketing Management positions; including 10 years as Marketing Communications Manager with Tektronix UK.  Started the first Nutwood company back in 1978 and launched Nutwood UK Ltd in 1995 to publish The EMC Journal and various EMC Directories.

David Castle
Managing Director, EMC Partner UK Ltd

David has been involved in the electronics industry since 1987.  Originally providing innovative solution and technical support within the secretive Tempest arena.

As a founding director of EMC Partner UK Ltd in 1995, he has provided high performance solutions to the UK EMC industry and test specific requirements of industry.

During the latest 10 year David has supported a variety of EMC test applications, specifically related to impulse voltage and current generation. Specialist knowledge of lightning effects within the avionics industry and military has benefitted this growing UK industry.

Richard Marshall, MA (Cantab), CEng, FIEE, FIET, FInst.P
Richard Marshall Limited 

From 1986 to 1996 he was Technical Director of Rotork Instruments. The company designed and manufactured Analogue and Digital Control systems, and safety-critical protection systems for industrial processes.

As a member of the IEE's professional groups on Electronic Design and EMC he has organised and chair several colloquis.  He has lectured widely on EMC and on Safety-Critical Systems.

Richard Marshall Limited was founded in 1996 to undertake rf and EMC-related electronic design, consultancy & training.
